Groundhog Day

Today we will be discussing the film of: Groundhog Day (1993)

“What do you want out of life?” “What if there were no tomorrow?”

Brief Synopsis of the film: The film revolves around the main character Phil Connors (Bill Murray), an uptight, sarcastic, and egomaniac weatherman for a Pittsburg news station. Every year, Phil along with his news reporter crew travels to Punxsutawney (PA) for the annual tradition and reporting of Groundhog day (which seems SOOO much fun! * [read with sarcasm]). Consequently, due to a blizzard, Phil and the crew are trapped in Punxsutawney, unable to return back from Pittsburg. Phil however, becomes trapped in a time warp, as he relives the same day over again (which is February 2nd/Groundhog Day) in Punxsutawney (Yikes!). Everything repeats itself exactly the same, nobody else besides him seems to notice this repetition occurrence, and Phil is unable to escape the doom. Finally, it is until Phil learns about compassion and helping others, when he is released from his “prison world” of reliving Groundhog day, being able to live life again like normal.
